Canopy House is a residence in which we had to face a predominantly steep slope. The ocean view could only be seen from the top of the terrain, so we saw this as an opportunity rather than a restriction. The concept of the project was to generate a stepped project on two levels with different heights to take advantage of these views towards the ocean on one side and the forest on the other.
We wanted to make a design as open as possible to both sides to really achieve this connection and interior-exterior relationship. On the upper level two bedrooms were distributed in different modules and one of the social areas was placed to which we gave a great height to achieve an opening towards the treetops. On the first level we placed the pool connecting with a second social area and two other bedrooms in different modules as well. The social areas were connected to the outside to create a pleasant space to practice yoga.
