Location: Pelada Beach, Nosara, Guanacaste.
Date of Completion: 2016.
Client: Private Residence.
Area: 191m2.
The client Paul Cuddon lived his whole life in the United States and decided for a change to come live in paradise, asking us to design his retirement home. This house is a reflection of contemporary contextual tropical architecture that adapts to its precise location. The land overlooks the ocean on one side as well as mountains on the other and that is why we sought to open the house towards these views without turning our backs on them.
The openings, those placed with a specific orientation, allow for a spectacular natural sight, also a cross ventilation, to create comfort. Several wooden elements create rhythms of shadow that give birth to a spectacular effect of light also protect from the sun and serve to generate privacy.
