VA Studio recently completed a boutique hotel in the paradise of Nosara, Costa Rica. Nosara has been developing into a destination for visitors around the world in search of wellness, yoga, surfing and so the Belgian owner fulfilled his dream of having his boutique hotel. The hotel program consists of 8 rooms with social spaces such as a restaurant and swimming pools that are surrounded by the exuberant vegetation that the site has.
Hotel guests have individual rooms since the idea of the project was to create separate modules to create a greater sense of privacy. By breaking the mass of the traditional hotel, the modules adapt better to the terrain while being surrounded by its vegetation. We wanted to design social areas such as the open restaurant with a double height to connect with the pools more directly.
